About this index — and how to reach it

DenoiseDex is a curated directory of AI audio cleanup tools. Not a top-100 content farm, not a user-review aggregator: fifteen tools that work, described in data, checked by hand.

The contract

Directories rot. Their listings outlive the products, the prices drift, and the "alternatives" pages fill with software that hasn't shipped a release since 2021. This site's entire identity is refusing that: zero dead tools, ever. Every listing was alive at our last verification pass, every fact table carries the date it was checked, and anything that dies gets removed within days of us noticing — not archived, not asterisked, removed.

What gets a listing

A tool qualifies if it removes background noise from speech using AI/ML or serious DSP, fits ordinary calling, recording or streaming workflows, is publicly available, and shows a maintenance record we can verify — releases, changelogs, store updates. Fifteen slots is a choice: below that line the honest one-line verdict becomes "don't".

What the DexScore is

A single 1–10 editorial score per tool, weighing capability, availability, price honesty and maintenance. It's opinionated and it says so; it is not an average of user reviews. Affiliate commissions never move it — several of our highest scores carry no affiliate relationship at all, and several /go/ partners sit mid-table.

Prose is short on purpose

Profiles here are capped, not padded. The fact table is the review; the paragraph is context; the verdict is one line. If you want 3,000-word essays, the internet has plenty — this site's bet is that a verified table beats them.
